This year, the Changdao International Zero-Carbon Island in Yantai, east China's Shandong Province, was selected as a key case material by the geography section (Yellow River paper) of “Gaokao”, China's national college entrance exam, showing its influence at home and abroad. From June 25 to September 1, facing 2025 Gaokao students, Yantai will be launching the activity themed “Meet the Sea along the Yellow River, Travel in Yantai with the Exam Paper”.
During the event, 37 senic areas in Yantai will offer preferential policies for 2025 Gaokao students nationwide, involving exempted first-entry admission or discounted tickets. Students can enjoy these privileges by showing their ID cards and Gaokao admissions. Among these, two 5A-level attractions, ten 4A-level attractions and eight 3A-level attractions will provide national examinees with the privilege of free first-entry admission.
Centered around topics like sightseeing, study tours, industrial exploration and cultural immersion, Yantai has launched 17 travel routes with 7 major themes, including three in-depth Changdao Island tours, study tour routes such as island ecology deep-dive and urban charm discovery, cultural sightseeing journeys, coastal leisure experiences, industrial heritage trails, wine tasting tours and emerging experiences like cycling adventures and glamping getaways.
