On April 18, the opening ceremony of the 43rd Weifang International Kite Festival and 2026 Weifang Kite Carnival was held in Weifang, east China's Shandong Province. It attracted 260 teams from 57 countries and regions worldwide, serving as an international cultural exchange platform for kite enthusiasts globally.

This festival also features several kite-related events, including the 22nd World Kite Championship, 2026 Weifang Kite Competition, and the Mass Kite Flying Show. A total of 56 serial events, centering on kites, cultural tourism, sports, economy and trade, consumption and other fields, will be held during the festival.
