On the morning of July 3, the 2025 GWTO Enotourism Conference kicked off in Penglai, Yantai, east China's Shandong province, with a shared initiative of “Inspiring Together a Responsible Enotourism”. Over 300 delegates attended the conference, including representatives from the Global Wine Tourism Organization (GWTO), consulates and embassies of relevant countries in China, related international wine organizations, provincial and municipal authorities in Shandong, government departments of key production areas, universities, associations, leading enterprises and media at home and abroad.

During the conference, the Xinhua·China (Yantai) Wine Industry Development Index was released. This index constructs a theoretical framework of "One Core, Dual Wings, Triple Pillars", setting core indicators from six key dimensions, which provides a comprehensive quantitative evaluation of the development of Yantai wine industry and offers a "Yantai Model" for global wine tourism industry development.
At the conference, Yantai was awarded the "International Responsible Wine Tourism Destination Certification" by GWTO, consolidating the city's global leadership in ecological conservation in viticulture, service standardization, and sustainable cultural development.
During the four-day conference, a series of events will be launched, including GWTO Council Meeting, themed sessions, international wine cultural exchange events, Qiushan Wine Forum, B2B business matchmaking, touring exhibition of Yantai wine-themed literary and artistic works. In-depth discussions will be held to focus on brand building for wine tourism destinations and collaborative innovation across the industry chain.
